The Tuscany Triple Triathlon is just around the corner. The event will be on Monday, July 16th
in the Tuscany Neighborhood at the
clubhouse and ending at the park off of N Basilica Way. We are so excited to have so many
participants this year. We have 152 kids
registered between the ages of 3 and 12.
Below is some very important information for you as parents
to read and go over with your child.
With this many participants it is important everyone knows the format
for the race so we can have a smooth, successful event.
Please review and sign the waiver (see link below). This a very important waiver
parents/guardians must read, sign and return at packet pick up or on race day.
Your child will not be able to participate without this waiver signed and returnedJ. Yes we know you checked the box when you
registered on Spondoro but we still need a paper copy.
Please read carefully.
If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us at tuscanytriple@yahoo.com. Thanks Jen and Celeste

Triathlon
Format
The race will begin at the pool, transition to bike and then
transition to the run. To alleviate
congestion in the pool, only swimmers and parents who are assisting swimmers
and are on deck will be allowed in the pool.
One adult may assist the participant in transitioning from swim to bike
and from bike to run.
Transition
Area
What is the
Transition Area?
In the sport of triathlon the Transition Area is where you
move from swim to bike to run. The
athlete passes through the Transition Area twice in the event.
Where are
the Transition Locations?
The swim to bike transition area for the 9-12 year olds is
in the Anderson’s Driveway (green house to the north of the Clubhouse). For 3-8 year olds, the swim to bike
transition area is in the clubhouse parking lot.
The bike to run transition is in the park on N Basilica in
the designated area marked with signs. Once you reach the bike to run
transition area, bikers will dismount bike and walk to designated area to
park. Please use minimum amount of space
to place bike and helmet.
What
happens in the Transition Area?
Individual spots will not be assigned, but every athlete
should claim a spot within the area designated for their age group. In the swim to bike transition is where
his/her bike, helmet, shoes/socks, race t-shirt, towel and other needed stuff
will be located. Athletes should set up
their equipment 15 min prior to their assigned start time. To make sure everyone has room in the
transition area, each athlete should use only the minimum amount of space
required to place their equipment. After
the swim, participants should put on their race t-shirts. Girls are welcome to slip shorts on over
their suit. The time spent in the
transition area is counted in the overall time.
Transition split times will not be noted. Be as fast as reasonable – but don’t forget
the important stuff (bike helmet and shoes tied).
Following the race, please go and pick up your personal
items in both transition areas. Put your
name on bike helmets, floatation devices and other aids as needed.
Race
Times
Race times will not be officially tracked this year. There will be a running clock at the start
and finish. Parents will need to note
the stop and finish times.
